July 2007 - The Sonix - Big Night Out - Queens Theatre.


After coming Joint 1st place in last years Big Battle, The Sonix were awarded a slot in The Big Night out along side some the area’s biggest acts.
This year they were asked to come back and perform again….and Monkey Man Films were there to document it.

 

I was aided by Matt Biggs from Artaura, and we used the show as an opportunity to test our out new HD toys.

June 2006 - North Devon Festival 2007 - Barnstaple and the local area


Following my work on last years Barnstaple Fringe Music Festival, I was asked to come back again, and also to expand to look at more of the North Devon Festival as a whole.

The films are currently in production

 

June 2007 - Amy Newton ’Which Hand’ album launch - Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe


On June 3rd  2007, Amy Newton launched her new album ‘Which Hand’ to a packed house at the Landmark Theatre

 

We were asked by Amy and her manager Roy to film the event with 2 cameras.
The footage was then handed over to Roy for editing

2006 NEWS

June 2007 - Smash! Boyz Dance Project

 

Filmed as part of the North Devon Festival, SMASH! featured a group of boys performing an original piece of dance choreographed by Sarah Shorten.
The venue was The Factory, once an industrial building, now used by the North Devon College Music Technology department.
The boyz were influenced by the space and the audience who stood everywhere and often found themselves part of the dance as the boys ran, jumped and slid between them.

May 2007 - Sony V1E HDV Camera arrives.

 

We have just taken delivery of our first step into the clear waters of High Definition editing.

The Sony V1E gives us the flexibility to film in HDV or standard definition to suit any client needs

January to March 2007 - Braunton School teaching

More teaching at Braunton this term.

This time we decided to try and make a TV programme and after some discussion the kids decided to create a comedy sketch show.
For research they were introduced to Monty Python, Not The Nine O'clock News and other similar shows.

They created a 30minute piece which They took home on DVD

October 2007 - Spoonful - Appledore British Legion.


John Sharp from Spoonful asked us to film what turned out to be the last gig that the band would ever play.
The band split after 2 years to try different projects.

We produced a DVD of the live 1 hour show and this is available for sale for £5.

December 2007 - The Vicar of Dibley live stage show—The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe.


I was contacted by the shows director Lee Baxendale from Small Pond Productions.

He wanted a record of the show, which was the UK premiere. We have produced a 2hour live DVD of the show using 2 cameras to give a closer than usual view of the actors
